Using the Continuous Improvement Model to Focus Instruction within the Unique Learning System Curriculum

Cynthia Rekort has worked for Pinellas County Schools in the area of Exceptional Student Education for 22 years. She is a Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst and is currently working for Pinellas County Schools as the InD Reading/Literacy Coach.
Brief Workshop Description:
The workshop will address how to use the Continuous Improvement Model to assist in focusing instruction when using the Unique Learning System curriculum. This problem solving model will provide a strategy for aligning the ULS lessons to the ULS progress monitoring tool.
Learning Objectives for Participants
- Participants will be able to identify the features and foundation of the Unique Learning System (ULS) that provides a standards-based curriculum for students with significant disabilities.
- Participants will be able to identify a system for aligning the ULS lessons to the ULS checkpoint assessment.
- Participants will be able to identify supplemental literacy materials that can complement the ULS curriculum.
