ADOS 2 Clinical Training Workshop

Training Description

The Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2 (ADOS 2) has become the standard Instrument for assessing ASD across age, developmental level, and language skills. Participants will learn how to use the ADOS 2 in clinical practice to assess and diagnose autism. This 2-day live workshop teaches, through instruction and live demonstration, how to use the ADOS-2 to clinically assess and diagnose autism. Seating is limited, with priority going to UCF CARD counties (Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Sumter and Volusia). This is an advanced level workshop supported by empirical peer reviewed scientific literature focusing on the application and assessment used for systematic and standardized evaluation of presence levels of autism spectrum disorders. Continuing Education Units for APA (12) and ASHA (1.2) are available for a fee of $60. CEUs are contracted with various brokers. Fees are not assessed by the accrediting agency. Participants must attend the entire full 2 days, participate in course activities, and complete self assessment to earn ASHA CEUs.

* Each Participant must bring an ADOS-2 Manual to the training. Manuals will not be available at the training site and are needed to score the live assessments each day. Participants must attend both days for the full time of the training in order to receive a certificate of completion. This clinical training is for diagnostic purposes and does not certify participants to use the ADOS for research purposes.

Training Objectives

1. Participants will learn how to use the ADOS 2 in clinical practice to assess and diagnose autism.
2. Participants will learn how to use the definitive autism assessment
3. Participants will benefit from the experience of an expert ADOS-2 instructor
4. Participants will practice scoring while observing ADOS-2 administrations

Target Audience
