Training Description

The increasing presence of support personnel, behavior technicians, and BCBAs in classrooms offers opportunities for collaboration but also presents challenges. This presentation explores strategies for fostering positive relationships, improving communication, and aligning goals to support the child’s success. Attendees will gain practical insights to navigate teamwork effectively, overcome challenges, and create a cohesive approach that enhances the learning environment.

Training Objectives

Participants will be able to:
  • Identify roles of support personnel, behavior technicians, and BCBAs in the classroom
  • Develop communication and collaboration strategies to enhance teamwork
  • Address challenges and establish goals to support student success

About the Presenter

Melissa K. Burkhardt, M.S. Ed., BCBA, is the founder of Early Start Autism, specializing in early intervention for young children with autism. A BCBA and ESDM therapist, she taught ESE Pre-K for 20 years. She coaches teachers, presents nationally, and won the 2019 Service Provider of the Year award. She is also the award-winning author of Exceptionally Good Friends.
