CARD Staff: Lerena Fleck

CARD staff: Lerena Fleck Dorothy Killinger is an ESE teacher for an early childhood program in Leon County. She has been teaching for 30 plus years. The first 26 years she taught in regular education classrooms from preschool through fourth grade. The past 5 and ½ years she has been teaching at the Early Childhood Professional Development Center in Tallahassee. Her class consists of 2 to 5 year olds with developmental delays; some of which have also been identified with ASD. She received her B.S. in Elementary/Preschool Education from The Pennsylvania State University and her M.S. in Early Childhood Education from The University of Houston. She is married, has 2 children and 4 grandchildren.

Proposed Project:

The teacher will develop several short and appropriate social stories to help the children in the class learn to play first associatively then cooperatively with their peers.
