Proposed Project:

“Using Assistive Technology to Teach Self-Monitoring Skills”

This project focuses on teaching students to self-monitor targeted behaviors through the use of a vibrating watch prompting device called WatchMinder. When set to an appropriate interval, the watch vibrates, prompting the student to use a self-monitoring checklist tailored to his/her specific needs. Some behaviors targeted through this program include remaining on-task, staying in an assigned area, completing tasks within a given time period, and increasing accuracy during independent work.
