CARD Staff: Bairbre Flood

Sheena Blue is currently working as a District Autism Spectrum Disorder Resource Teacher and has accomplished almost 10 years of service to the school district of Palm Beach County.  She provides support to over 42 schools in the county ranging from preschool age to 22 years.  Her duties are to teach and design a variety of professional development courses, support general and ESE classroom teachers, provide behavior support to students, programming for ASD students, and development of Individual Education Plans (IEP) and eligibility. Sheena has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Exceptional Student Education from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She holds a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University.  She also has an endorsement in autism spectrum disorders from Florida State University.  She is currently a professor at Palm Beach State College and Palm Beach Atlantic University.  She supports both programs in helping to design research based exceptional student education courses.  Her teacher certifications are with Florida Department of Education in the following areas: General Education (K-6), Exceptional Student Education (K-12), Educational Leadership (all levels), ESOL Endorsed, and Autism Endorsed.

Proposed Project:

"The Use Of iPads for Curriculum and Social Enhancement in ASD Middle School Classrooms"

This project looks at the effective use of iPads in an ASD classroom for helping to enhance and bring to life curriculum and social skills training.
