Maurica Peacock began her teaching career in 1991 when she graduated from Florida State with a BS in Child Development and Family Relations. She taught in several preschools, childcare centers and the Head Start program. She graduated with a MS in Early Childhood Education also from Florida State in 2002. She has been working with the Leon County Pre-K program as a teacher for 8 years. She has 4 children of her own and she is active in her church and community.

Proposed Project:

This project involves the school’s 5th grade Safety Patrol and children with autism. The Safety Patrol will be given some empathy training and skills to support interactions between themselves and students with autism. Once developed, the project will be shared and supported with two other schools
